No more dirty, ugly carpet!!!

I pulled up to carpet to reveal the glued down backing stayed stuck to lino that may not look to shabby if I can get the glue and underlay off the floor. Tomorrow I plan to use boiling water and a scraper to get all the stuff off and then we'll decide if the floor looks good enough of if we do indeed need to put new flooring down.

We almost have chair cushions!

I did all of the machine work today, tomorrow I plan to put the covers on the other 3 cushions that are in the garage and then hand stitch them closed or insert a zipper, we'll see what I can find tomorrow - I don't want to spend $40 on zippers when chances are we won't have a need to take the covers off as we don't normally eat in the camper, we eat at the picnic tables. Here is a picture of how the cushions will look. They can be placed with the "wave" pointing upwards or downwards, until they're in the unit it's hard to tell which will look better.

bedding done, patterns made!

I finished the bedding this past weekend - it's all ready to be wrapped up, and I just made the pattern for the 4"x20"x40" cushions, I am getting ready to lay out the fabric and start cutting.
Old wrapping paper works great for making patterns that slide over fabric and don't tear as easily as tissue paper. And who can't feel cheery when working with a bunch of snowwman on a summer project?
patterns wer 29" x 49" with 4" squares cut from each corner.
Fabric has been cut and I have now used the pattern above to create the bottom of the cushions by cutting off one long flap and 2 short flaps.

This WILL be the weekend.

The bedding is ALMOST done, I need to put elastic in one fitted sheet, and alter the last fitted sheet it's a double, but needs to be a twin - they didn't have any twin's in the colour I got for the larger beds, so although it's slightly more work, it's worth it. Then once that's done, I plan to make a pattern and cut the fabric for the four 4"x20"x40" cushions.

the bedding.

The beds aren't even ready, one needs to be washed and recovered, one needs to be recovered, and one needs to be built and covered, but the bedding is ready, this will be my mother's gift for mother's day:) I still have to make sheets that will fit the bed but by purchasing marked down sheet sets I can alter them to fit:)

Each quilt has a matching pillowcase that can store the quilt when it's not in use.

washa-washa-wasaha

All of the kitchen area cushions have been washed and are now sitting outside drying - hopefully it stays dry for a few days. Hopefully it gets nice and warm soon so I can wash the upper bunk. Dad is doing some more work on it today, not sure what, but I'm sure it's important otherwise he wouldn't be wasting his time.

Washing the foam mattresses

We've decided to attempt washing the foam mattresses before buying new. We'll have to wait until it gets warmer, it's an outdoor job, and after reading the instructions, it sounds like it will be quite a task, but I'm up for the challenge.
